    Comments:
MA & GGUL:  Wow.... 98 days (it's Saturday) to go! I can hardly wait until pictures of Delaney Shea Barbee are posted!!!!!!!!!! I know that this time (especially the last one or two months) will go fast for us (! maybe not you) and all of us can hardly wait for her arrival. The both of you are going to be such great parents and with all of the loving relatives that will surround this "princess" it will be a wonderful time! We can hardly wait! Love all three of you (and, of course the dogs!) so much - feel our big hug around you! Love, MA and Great, Great Uncle Lonnie (GGUL)!

Mark (Pops in GA.) Strelecki:  Sing with me:
    "Ninety-nine days until Delaney's born,
    Ninety-nine days until then,
Take one down and pass it around,
    Ninety-eight days until Delaney's born!"
Go with it, people! Have FUN with it!! <grin>

    WEEK 24
Delaney fully fills the uterus now, but there is still plenty of room for growth. Over the next three months she will have the biggest weight gain.
Brain waves are beginning to activate the auditory and visual systems, causing her mouth and lips to become sensitive. Eyes will respond to light and the ears are reactive to sounds from outside of the uterus. She may be able to tell when she is upside down now because her inner ear is completely developed. The brain is very active now and is regulating all other body functions.
Toenails and fingernails are growing now and may need trimmed when they are born. Blood vessels in the lungs are developing and will exchange oxygen after birth. The alveoli (the very tiny final branches of the respiratory tree) and air sacs have developed completely.
This time next year, Delaney will be 9 months old.

    Comments:
aunt Sue and Diana:  Dearest Parents to almost be, Thank you so much for keeping us all in the baby loop.... can't wait to see her in person, to touch her, smell her and rock her to sleep. I suppose the line will be incredibly long for this wee little one, ah, can I put my name down on the waiting list Now?? Hope to see you in a few weeks,.... Lib and Mark Steven that is, DS, stay right where you are, a very safe and cozy place to be. Always hopeful, (Great) Aunt Sue and my Diana in Des Moines
Karly:  Mark & Libby, Thank you for sharing this experience with everyone. It sure does make everyone a part of it no matter how close they are or how busy one may be. Delaney has the best parents anyone can ask for. I've always known Mark would make the perfect daddy and Mark adding Libby to the parent mix just means Delaney will start out very lucky. Delaney Shea will be wrapped around Mark's finger (yes she will Mark) and of course she will be the apple of mommy's eye! You both have great families and extended families so I would say we are all very lucky to be a part of this and I can't wait until we can celebrate baby Delaney's life! Love to all, Karly

P.S. Mark - if the ultrasound photo's didn't already make me all weepy, I just had to see Sam! I can't believe how much Sam looks like Bear!!!! Love you guys.
Pops in Georgia:  Grow, baby, GROW! Maybe now's the time to play music around her and take her for rides in the car. Libby, are you eating lotsa good food and drinking loads of water? I am certain we will ALL be very happy with the results. <grin>
Best wishes and loads of love from your extended family in Georgia. You are doing great so far!!!
Delaney's Dad:  I can't believe how active she is in that belly. She moves around all the time. I have asked her to let Mom sleep at night. :)

    WEEK 22
Delaney is getting bigger and continues to practice for life outside the uterus. This week she has fully developed eyelashes and eyebrows and the hair on her head is continuing to grow as her brain begins a rapid growth process. She has fully formed fingerprints and loud noise can wake her up. She may begin kicking and turning around, too (she has). Delaney's heartbeat can be heard with a stethoscope. Her nose is taking on a more defined shape as cartilage (the soft bone) appears. Delaney is approximately 12.2 inches and weighs about one pound.

This time next year, Delaney will be 34 Weeks Old!

    Comments:
Delaney:  HA HA HA Aunti Marci.
Pops in Georgia:  "This time next year, Delaney will be 34 Weeks Old!"

    That's funny!

Loads of love and hugs from Atlanta, GA. And, NO, it's not raining here yet (Gustav).
Aunti M:  I pray for you Delaney that the shape of your nose is becoming more like Aunti's or Mommy's than Daddy's! I'm sure you could pull off makin' it look good baby girl, but your daddy has gotten a lot of teasing from me over his lifetime for that honker! P.S. I love you brother. :)
aunt Sue and Diana:  Oh and she is making me A Great Auntie,...come om duh.... grow baby grow. Peace, Aunt Sue and Diana in Des Moines.Miss y'll.
Jamie:  You forgot the part that says she's BEAUTIFUL!!!
